New Orleanians have come to love Cochon, Donald Link and Stephen Stryjewski's restaurant in the CBD. So you can imagine our excitement when they opened the Cochon Butcher behind Cochon. This modern butcher shop offers a variety of house made meats. These include sopresatta, coppa picante, chorizo, and duck prosciutto to name only a few. They are priced between $7 and $8 per 1/4 lb. The butcher also has many different cuts of meat for sale varying from perfectly marinated skirt steak to duck confit. There is an entire wall of enticing items in glass jars. Pickled okra is always a must. The butcher also has prepared foods to go such as egg salad, potato salad, and pimento cheese. Once you have picked out the perfect foie gras to go with your purchase it is time to tackle the menu. The menu offers 7 sandwiches and 7 bar food items along with some daily specials.
